Gravity Plus is a ready-to-use, special formulation which forms a super-slippery, flexible coating that eliminates sticking. Product is sprayed with special applicator to the chute to prevent the fines from sticking it coat the chute and prevent moisture penetration. Gravity Plus is highly resistant to severe abrasion and impact typical in coal mining and processing, has selfhealing action that prolongs coating life and does not chip or flake. Gravity Plus is applied using a chemical spray applicator (Switch Treator®). The treated surface is ready for use immediately. Gravity Plus must be applied for several applications so that the surface becomes properly “conditioned” or coated.
The Gravity Plus formula is environmentally friendly and considered non-hazardous to your health.

Normally it is sufficient to brush off fines and grit from the surface. The particles of the formulation must come in contact with the metal surface for proper adhesion and abrasion resistance. If this is not feasible, several liberal applications are recommended during the initial application period.
Ø Freshly mined coal absorbs oxygen more quickly, and is more prone to spontaneous combustion.
Ø Long-time retention of coal increases the possibility of heating.
Ø Segregation of particle sizes is a major cause of heating. As the particle size decreases and the exposed surface area increases, the tendency of the coal towards spontaneous combustion increases.
Ø Segregation of particles encourages air introduction.
Ø Limiting the height of the coal pile prevents an environment that is conducive to spontaneous combustion.
Ø Changes in the moisture content of the pile (drying or wetting of the coal) have apparent effects.
Ø Proper pile compaction, as compaction reduces the air movement within the pile.
Spot sealing of the area on the coal pile utilizing Soil Sement® provides a barrier against water and air infiltration, which are critical factors in preventing spontaneous combustion. Soil Sement® protects against moisture penetration, and protects against oxidation on and within the storage pile.
Soil Sement®chemically bonds to create a resistant surface with weather-ability to wind, rain and ultraviolet light. The effectiveness comes from the length and strength of its polymers and of the molecules and their ability to bond with surface particles and to each other. Once cured, the polymer molecules in Soil Sement® form a network of tiny interconnected filaments that restrict movement. This in turn increases stability and keeps out air and water infiltration and creates the extinguishing and prevention barrier.
FoamKleen delivers a high-pressure stream of dry content foam to the hard to reach walls and ceilings of industrial plants and coal facilities. After it’s applied, the FoamKleen agent travels down the wall from the ceiling, girders and framework and will attract dust like a magnet. It then carries the dust deposits directly to the floor. After the foam dissipates, it is simply swept away. FoamKleen is ideal for cleaning any kind of coal dust, especially PRB coal from western regions, which can be very explosive. Routine cleaning around volatile coal dust areas is an important safety precaution and provides peace of mind to your company and employees. From a practical standpoint, our FoamKleen agent minimizes the amount of moisture that enters storage areas, which affects the BTU value of the coal itself
FoamKleen offers remarkable spray range. The system comes with an 6’ spray wand and a 75’ discharge line. Assuming the unit is positioned in the middle of the cleaning area, 200 lineal feet of area is reached without moving the unit. Should the unit need to be re-positioned, the unit is very portable on pneumatic wheels. No adjustments need to be made on the injection pump and all the settings remain set. The electric, water, and air supply lines can be customized to the customer’s requirements. When finished for the day, we recommend (as a good housekeeping practice) to simply flush the injection pump with air and water.
The FoamKleen unit includes a five gallon chemical concentrate tank, an explosive-proof chemical injection pump and a pneumatic rubber wheeled stand. The pump is powered by 110 volt AC current, requires a water supply minimum of 3 gpm @ 45 psi and a minimum of 50 psi air pressure (20 cfm) to achieve proper spraying range. A 110 volt explosion proof male plug, a 1/4” female NPT air connection and a 3/4” female NPT water connection are required on location.
Traditional methods like watering programs and off-the-shelf palliative products provide an inconsistent and unpredictable level of control. You spend time, money and equipment applying and reapplying and reapplying again — just to have the dust return.
Midwest complete dust control solutions eliminate dust and deliver long-term reliability when compared to inconsistent and short-lived traditional methods. This superior performance drastically reduces operating costs, improves health and safety, increases productivity and delivers guaranteed air quality compliance with fewer applications. Additionally, Midwest formulations are sustainable, protecting the environment with green alternatives to overwatering or ordinary products.
Using in-place native soils instead of imported materials, with the new, organic alternative Midwest Industrial Inc.’s products also can be used for soil stabilisation for maintenance of roads. Midwest’s natural-binder-based road construction solution properly engineers sustainable, flexible roadbeds such as unpaved secondary roads; access roads for industrial facilities and operations (e.g., power companies, mines, steel mills, agricultural production, and military roads); trails; entrance roads and pathways for event destinations and residential communities; village and municipal roads.
Midwest NaturalPave delivers the structural strength of asphalt at only 40% of the construction cost. You save up to 60% of that cost, while replacing 100% of the petroleum used in conventional, flexible pavement construction. This is a considerable step forward, because more than 95% of pavements are asphalt. This is critical because asphalt prices are considered volatile in nature, making project planning and budgeting daunting tasks.
